A garage of one’s own.
Have I mentioned how much I love this garage, this boat house of mine, all mine? And it has suddenly occured to me why: It’s because I have never had a garage before. All those years of city living, with the car parked in the street, schlepping it back and forth from curb to curb twice a week for the opposite-side-of-the-street parking regs.
But now I have my own garage …  and I LOVE it. I LOVE that I have our four bikes hanging from the ceiling, that the floor smells of Pine-Sol, that I work our there in the mornings with the garage door open looking out at my own private Idaho of a dock front, Woodpsring Lane become my very own river. And today I brought home a pair of two-drawer filing cabinets bought at a used office-furniture shope to keep out there, to fill my space!
