Tuesday, December 2, 2008 I had to recheck my math today on Total Meters Rowed, and it turned out I had given myself an extra 1,000 meters — 147K instead of the correct 146K. So this suddenly seems a good moment for the editorial disavowel that the numbers in the total-meters-rowed column may appear larger than they really are. Or, for that matter, smaller. Math was never, let’s just say, Steve’s strong suit (note the third person and its psychological effort to put distance between myself and these calculated quotients). I do them freehand and kind of backwards as I type them in. So if anyone out there has a penchant for adding up columns of numbers, feel free to do the math. Thanks. (But I gotta figure I’m close; I mean, really.) |
